Mebius Sensor

The mission of the Mebius Sensor Project is to sense the natural environment of Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). We have deployed 15 wireless sensor nodes each embedded with a temperature, humidity and an illuminance sensor on the circumference of the campus. Each sensor node is equipped with a solar battery panel, and forms a multi-hop network that covers our campus. The Mebius Sensor system is designed to be a platform for various ubiquitous computing applications such as enhancing people’s awareness of the natural environment.

Plan and Schedule

We are planning to cover the whole SFC canpus with 15 sensor poles. We have deployed 3 poles in September 2009.

Detail of the Sensor Pole

The Mebius sensors have utilized eKo mote by Crossbow Inc. as its sensor nodes, and have installed a solar radiation sensor, a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor onto each node.
